We will be playing with Deerbrook Covenant Church again, so you may see some other Lee’s Summit students. There will be different hunts and prizes for Jr. & Sr. High teams. Parents, this is an event not to miss! This session will address substance use and abuse in the Lee's Summit and Blue Springs school districts. Parents will be given information about current abuse among students as well as tools to help identify early use and how and when to intervene. It will feature Officer R. Berry as the keynote speaker, a local police officer who is stationed at Delta Woods Middle School. Engage Locally is a parents-oriented event our church hosts a few times a year to equip you as parents of teenagers. The event is designed to encourage you, connect you to other parents of teenagers, and equip you to grow as parents. This will be an excellent way of meeting other parents in our church and community. Refreshments will be provided. Meet at the Lecture Hall (Room 330) on Thursday, October 7th from 7-8:15 pm. The cost to you is FREE! |

The Logos Retreat is a fall retreat for students in 7-8th grades & 9-12th grades! Friday through Sunday (10/15-10/17 at YouthFront Camp West in Edgerton, KS. Awesome worship, relevant teaching, games, small group discussion, PLUS the chance to hang out with friends & get away from school, pressure, parents, & busyness. Cost is $75; checks payable to Woods Chapel UMC due by 9/30/10. After that date, $10 late fee will be applied until registration closes on 10/7/09.
